Hello! Welcome to #enggirlbooks: a book club for women in engineering.
Our vision for enggirlproblems is to curate a range of resources for women in engineering and make them available in one place. Seeing as a book recommendation is almost as good as a supportive text from your best friend, we couldn’t help but think of a book club as an excellent place to start building these resources.
#enggirlbooks will launch in May 2018. We will post when we start a book, publish a review post when we finish a book, and provide updates throughout, via our newsletter and social media accounts. We will read each book over a period of two months to give everyone a chance to participate. We know life can get busy and reading isn’t always first priority.
In the meantime, we have started posting reviews of books that we are reading right now. If you’re looking for a book to read, the first review is available here on Finish: Give Yourself the Gift of Done by Jon Acuff. It pairs nicely with Elaine’s article on goal setting if you’re feeling that spring cleaning/ new year, new me vibe.
We are excited to meet you in the discussions on #enggirlbooks and hear about your perspectives and experiences related to the current book.
Join us for #enggirlbooks! Sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media to stay in the loop.

Olivia is a project manager at a mechanical engineering consulting firm for the food industry in Toronto, ON. Her job is like a behind-the-scenes episode of How It’s Made, and includes free samples on good days if she’s lucky. Outside of engineering, she is an avid thrift shopper, has a strong affinity to corgis, and is passionate about advocating for women in STEM and diversity in the work place.
